Yahoo Search Marketing - Sponsored Search

Our first step into advertising, this will be an attempt to both learn more about how to do this correctly and also to spur some LearnCentrix hosting sales. This was previously called Overture and includes ads in MSN, AltaVista, CNN, InfoSpace (and maybe others?) as well as Yahoo.

Although generally a do-it-myselfer, I decided to try the Fast Track for some of the additional features that are included. The sign up process for this puts you into a series of pages to fill out about your products or services. I chose an initial budget of $100-250 and keywords:

online learning
elearning
web based training
online training
call center training

A site redesign is planned but not yet started, so we have mostly outdated product information. I am confident that we will have this started within the next week or so (prior to placing any ads).

What if I would rather pay by business check than credit card? Not an option. Oh well, I guess I'll proceed anyhow. I bumped up the prepay amount a little to make it $499 to start including the Fast Track stuff.

I hate surveys; my opinion is that if somebody wants me to take time to answer questions, they should have to pay me for that time. So, it is a little irritating that I am forced to complete a survey when I am the customer.

Customized proposal expected within 3 days. Now I see the FAQ and additional information for those new to paid search! Another bit of frustration was that I looked for this and didn't find it before I signed up and paid. If you are looking to do this, you may want to look here to get some questions answered before signing up.
